I'm just getting involved in programming and computational electronics, and would like other (preferably more experienced) people to assist me in it's construction.
It would be a personal data storage server, copying the stored data in a separate hidden HD with encryption. Why would I want to create this you may ask? Mainly because it would be cool, and make me feel like 007. You might also ask "why not just develop this yourself?" Because I don't know how and would like to learn.

It wouldn't be secret for long, probarbly set more than a few alarm bells ringing and not to long before a few people with badges come knocking on your door.

The best way to keep your server secret is to unplug the ethernet cable.

Well here in the UK we are getting something called the "Communications Data Bill" which will force ISPs to store the who, when and where of all online activity, including email, instant messaging, social media activity, web browsing and VoIP calls for a minimum of one year. So that then The police, Serious Organised Crime Agency, HM Revenue and Customs and the Home Office would all be able to access this data. One of the aims of this bill is ensure that people can't hide data or activity, in the UK this bill is being dubbed a snoopers charter. But what it will also mean is that anyone trying to hide servers are going to be at risk from law enforcement because it circumvents what the government are try to achieve. Though there are many arguments against this bill the governments argument is it will only be a problem for people with things to hide.
