With it state of the art neural interface, the iNod can download the dream of your choice directly from the Internet.

Okay, seriously, if and when dreams, memories, etc. are capable of being downloaded directly to the human nervous system, will the boundary between virtual reality and its actual counterpart not become blurred or even nonexistent?

What would the consequences be? Obviously at present there is no such device, but who knows for sure how long we will be able to say this? Would such dreams be protected under copyright? Are there more annoying questions to be raised by this possibility?

Looking forward to thoughts on this matter and thanks in advance.

It depends how realistic they are. Even with natural dreams I find myself struggling to remember whether I did a task I was supposed to or whether I just dreamed I did.

how long we will be able to say this?
That is hard to say, but as far as I know no technology exists that even comes near this sort of level.

ould such dreams be protected under copyright?
    Are movies protected under copyright?

Lore of dreams is puzzling, much like these same dreams. How to capture or record them? They are most intimate. Yet it took thousands of years to perfect the capture and manipulation of images, today we do so with relative ease.

Seeing is no longer believing, as a matter of fact.

15uliane is right when he says that no technology exists yet, that even comes near to that. What i'm waiting for technology-wise is contact-lenses with build in OLED's, and it is probably the one technology currently in development that comes closest to what you're dreaming of. Imagine some contact-lenses that are completely hollow, but small invisible electrical circuits containing millions of OLED-pixels are implanted on the lenses. The lenses should be able to generate power when people blink their eyes, and some scheme for receiving transmitted signals is necessary. With lenses like that, the virtual world and reality could be blended at a whole new level, and it would be possible to create an extreme form of augmented reality! Imagine the computer-games that could be developed specifically for a technology like that. And all the other endless possibilities and applications for this. Want to watch a movie, snap you fingers and all of a sudden you're sitting in a huge movie-theater watching your movie of choice
