I'm a student at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater, and I'm researching EMP protection devices.
I have come across many sources saying many different things about ways to protect devices; however, I am having trouble understanding the effects of EMP and how it's dangerous to electronics.
My understanding is most electronic devices are threatened by EMP through their circuit connection, and the vast lines of electircal wire and cable gather the energy of an EMP and focuses it into the device.
Would surge prtection devices protect against EMP? Both on a resiential and commecial (Panels, Server Cabinets) basis?
