The question is what makes voltage current flow back an forth? also how fast can it switch. i know that standard ac in the U.S. changes 60 time a sec. But would it be possible for it to alternate 1000 times per sec or even 100,000?
    Thanks

Well, radio frequencies are much higher. But for transmission of power, you would run into problems by making the frequency too high. The power cables have inductance and capacitance which cause the cable impedance to change with frequency. Essentially, it would become harder to push the current out over the wires.
