I have one of them charts in my possesion here. I loved calculating the value of those tiny resistors in the lab in university (Oh God, I sound so sad).

All you have to remember is that it starts with black and ends in white. The rest of the colors just fall in a logical sequence. I mean, Brown is obviously closer to black in shade than any of the other colors, and Grey is closer to white. As far as the other colors go, you can see what order they should follow by just looking at them.
