A company has done a survey amongst their 256 employees. THe sample size was set 155. In the survey data on the gender and ethnic background of their employees were recorded. The management formulated a 0- hypothese.
This stated that with respect to belonging to an ethnic minority there was no sgnificant differene between male and female.

I don't think you have actually stated a hypothesis. You have only said data was collected and that there is no difference between male and female. but you didn't state what the data actually showed or what was being measured. What type of difference were you looking for. Difference in height, difference in weight, difference in pay, etc?

Speaking badly about people after they are gone and jumping on the bash the band wagon must do very well for a low self-esteem.

You are still leaving out something very important. the reason for the study.... And what difference they were looking for.

No because it can possibly be disproven if you kept the experiment going or collected more data. I think that's how it works. In this case if all 256 employees had their survey data included then the results may be different than that of the 155 sample. Just going on memory which isn't that good so maybe this helps.... My margin for error is quite high

Trying to figure out the chart you provided. It looks as if when the population totals climb above 1 million then the numbers below the percentages level off which might indicate that the lower population numbers appear to be giving a clear indication that there isn't much difference whereas if you were to continue then it does show a significant difference exists. However do not take my word as gospel.

All that belongs to human understanding, in this deep ignorance and obscurity, is to be skeptical, or at least cautious; and not to admit of any hypothesis, whatsoever; much less, of any which is supported by no appearance of probability...Hume
