Browsing the Internet, one can see many acronyms and labels. They are expected to tell what to do. This os often not as clear as reading full sentences, organized in a pedagogically sensible order.

For example, suppose I see a label DELETE above a button. What should I delete and why? I am expected to figure this out from the current context. Sometimes this is obvious and sometimes it is not obvious.

I wander what effect does this have on communication ability of kids? Was this studied somewhere? What were the conclusions? My guess is that the effect is negative. But I might be wrong.
