How Scientists Dream of Killing Hurricanes

Scientists have been thinking for quite some time, about how to stop storms as they're happening. After watching Hurricane Dorian wreak havoc in the Bahamas, and sitting on pins and needles worried about where it might strike next on the southeast US coast, it would be quite amazing if scientists could find ways to modify nature, and its storms. Could there be a way to control or lessen a hurricane's strength, after it begins?

Trump has suggested nuking them of course....

There is one way we can control them, or at least stop them getting worse: stop increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Short of that, there are no ideas. In that fact the National Geographic article is just recitation of the ideas that don't work or are impractical.
