Are you referring to the dolostones that form part of the cap carbonates in the Proterozoic, generally overly tillites and are taken to represent deposits formed following the return to sub-troical conditions after a snowball Earth episode, or at least a severe glaciation? If so are you referencing the counter view, such as that posited by Retallack that attributes the dolostones to periglacial deposits?
