    Hi all!
Let me share with you a scientifically deduced earthquake prediction:

Location: latitude 10-20 North, longitude 130-150 East (i.e. East of Philippines)
    Date: May 30, 31 or June 1
    Magnitude: 6.0-7.5

please note that according to the US Geological Survey records
    (see e.g. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquak...quakes_big.php)
this would be the first earthquake of magnitude 6 or higher since 2011/5/15, i.e. in more than two weeks of relative calm.

    Best regards!

That is highly speculative, it's virtually impossible to predict an earthquake.

That is an almost meaningless and certainly pointless statement. Unlike 95% plus of the nutters and 'theorists' and pseudoscientists and general freaks who appear in the forum sergiosalsa has put his money on the table. My hats off to him for that.

Part of me wants to cash in some frequent flyer miles, hang out in the Philippines for a few days, then marvel at the ignorance still rampant among inhabitants of this planet when yet another prediction of this sort fails and nobody is held to account. To the OP... You're not by any chance related to Harold Camping, are you?

I don't understand what you're trying to say, my original statement stands- it IS virtually impossible to accurately predict am earthquake...

Right. So if the OP turns out to be correct, with a very specific prediction, we will have to consider the possibility that he/she has discovered a way to predict earthquakes more accurately.

Rather than waffle endlessly about trivial rubbish like a lot of posters, the OP makes a prediction that can very easily be tested, and we can wait to see how it pans out before bothering to engage in lengthy discussions about the science behind the prediction. Very efficient way of practicing pseudoscience

Because it makes him look that much more silly when (even given the extra 10 days of cushion) it still doesn't happen.
