I was just wondering if any of you have any ideas for a science project dealing with geology?

Create a model of a river with a 9 foot by 2 foot box about 8 inch high. Fill it with dirt and alluvium and set it at an angle with a variable water source at one end and a collection point at the other (to avoid the mess).

With this, you can demonstrate the river dynamics by varying the incline and volume of water. Meandering, oxbow lakes, channeling, flood plains, etc.

You could do an experiment on deep time and just wait for something to happen on a scaled time scale and make it a point to waste everyone's time.

    That always wins an A.
