It seems to be the only way to really grasp the scale of the disaster.
I've read that some of the countries victimized by the tsunami will not rebuild villages on the direct shoreline. Instead they plan to grow mangrove forests and build fish ponds there, as a buffer between sea and settlement. Seems quite reasonable, although the chance of another tsunami is minimal.
