hello all!! I am a Sophomore in High school, and at this point, I have started planning out my life. My deepest passion is open water kayaking (Sea/Flatwater). I love paddling, love the outdoors, and I love water, and of course, playing in it. Unfortunatly, there are no High-Income careers in the Paddling industry, so I had to take a different route. I plan to move to Honnolullu so Im definetly going to need a very good paying job for that goal.
Hydrology/Enviro sciences sounded very intriging to me. Of course I love water so much, it seems like a perfect fit. But Im still wondering, what is the typical day like for a hydrologist?? Is there alot of work outdoors, or better yet, in water?? Is it just the study of Rivers and creeks, or is ocean study involved as well?? This might sound real stupid, but is it possible to actually do any kayaking in this job?? Perhaps trying to reach a destination of interest, or to collect samples?? Is a Masters degree good enough for this job?? If there is lab work involved thats alright as long as theres some outdoor work involved too.
