I have a puny 7100 GS NVIDIA graphics card installed and I'm looking to upgrade. I am looking at mid ranged cards like the xTx 8600 GT XXX edition or equivalent. Advice?

cannot go wrong with Nvidia, especially if you have an sli capable motherboard, that way you can upgrade very cheapily
8600 gt is great, if you have the money 8800 is the way to go, stay away from ati right now, way more expensive for the same performance of cheaper nvidia cards.
Thanks man!
I've run both over the years, and the NVidia 8800 I have now blows most everything else out of the water. The nice part is I am now running a dual monitor system: nothing like it!
I found a good deal for two Nvidia 7600GT cards that I can SLI. I think that should do for now?
yeah, two 7600s will be fine, especially if you are not looking for directx 10 capability which requires windows vista.
the 7600gt is considered better than the 8600gt by some, so I would go for it if you can't justify buying an 8800 card.
7600s are good my friend has them and it looks great and run smooth test them out without spending to much money because you know another graphics card is right around the corner
Not to be picky, but some time ago, people invented puctuation! You know, comma ",", period "." and my personal favourite, the semi-colon ";". Reading run-on sentences is an art I have yet to master.....Originally Posted by Softix
