I just noticed this when looking something up in Google. Google makes phones? Tablets? Anyone own one of these?

Google makes everything. Just wait until you commute to work in your Google Automocar, wearing your Google Glass to read your Google OLED ePaper and sipping Google French Roast from a ... well, you get the idea.

I think the computers are called Chromebooks, but I could be wrong about that. I have no experience with them.

Google's things are everywhere. They make OS for phones, tablets and recently they came with chromebook, a notebook which has google's OS. They make phones called NEXUS series which are pretty faster and have some great specifications in a very satisfactory price range.

If you think the fact that they make tablets is impressive, you should check out their self-driving cars

They've been on the bad side of some American manufacturers for not sharing their technology openly. Now, they're in talks to bring down their auto driving system in order to begin integration into major manufacturer's cars.

I think their goal was to reduce the price by 90%. A lofty one.

I'd love a Nexus-7 if it looks like Harrison Ford.

I got a Nexus 10 tablet, pretty happy about it.

Can't wait for google autopilot though. Then I'll be able to watch movies on my google-tablet while driving.

Oh my, I must venture out of my cave more often.

I'm not sure what I'm more impressed with--that Google makes gadgetry or that you all seem to know SO much about it? lol Nexus 7 looks cool, indeed.

They also plan on reducing car accidents by 90% (because 90% or so of car accidents are attributed to human error). Pretty ambitious, but sounds too good to be true.

Nowadays I have to trust every dumbass on the road not to ram me by accident, sleeping, drinking, burn a red light, being careless...

In my opinion it's extremely easy for a computer with 360 view and near instant reaction to beat human drivers.

I am trying to pick a tablet...I just don't know which is the best. I want one that has a USB port....should I need it...and one I can add a keyboard.....and one that I can take to the doctors when I have to sit for 1/2 hour and not throw something at some one out of sheer boredom and no my phone won't cover this

There are many options considering your requirements. Samsung's Galaxy Tab is the foremost option that has cool looks and it is up to you requirements. It has great battery life and comes with android 4.0 onwards.

Sounds like you re describing one of these transformers laptop/tablet. You know, with detachable tactile screen.

P.S : About tablets on android, i quite like being able to DL torrents directly on it. Although in US you prob don t need it because of netflix and stuff.

I m extremely pissed off by the lack of flash player on every tablet/phone that i know of though.

Depends on what you are willing to spend. For me, I'd still go for the Samsung Ativ Q (Win8 + Android Jelly Bean), but it seems to have been delayed until next year. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Android Jelly Bean) is a pretty nice device too. I also like the new Microsoft Surface Pro 2 (Win 8), though it won't have as many apps as an Android device.

Hey Kalster-what don't you like about Apple? I don't know if you've ever elaborated on that. I have an iPhone and I'd have to agree but my reasons might differ from yours. I don't think I'll purchase anymore Apple products. Only the kind that can be eaten, will I ever buy again.

Apple used to be the scrappy underdog. Now they're the mustache-twirling villain.
