IPv6 is here, and new Layer 1 wifi formats are being developed.

I would think though that there should be a fibre link in every household in the world, with bandwidth in the terabits. All of the global bodies, like the IEEE, ITFT, Internet Society, etc. should IMO be moving towards this.

Who has terabit connections for wired Layer 1? In the US or Europe few, but IMO all households in the world should. Even in remote places in Africa, India and other places.

From what you said, I'd say you are fairly young (30 or less). When I was that age and had my first Internet connection it was a 300 Baud dial up connection. Do you have any idea how slow that is? With two fingers I could type faster than I could download text, and any pictures or music was above my pay grade. Now I sit here with a dedicated 30 Mbit connection and probably won't live to see Gbit connections let a lone Tbit connections. But I do know we are headed in the right direction, at least those of us that can pay for it, when it becomes available.
