Another view port in your head? So we know that we can send messages deriving from a camera and then have the brain processes those messages being sent from the camera to a image.
It's been done before. (View information) What if those messages are of a computer. For example the image being perceived or captured would be that of a computer desktop.
We know that this technology is proven surely the image being captured could be of a desktop rather then the world. Now that the image is being sent to your brain (I wonder how this would work)
over time you should learn to see the image clearly much as if you were learning to see again. I envision it would be something like a third eye or that of another view port (in computer terms)
One view port would be your default vision (Your eyes) and the other would be your virtual eye *looking at the desktop*. Perhaps this is the way to have heads up displays, rather then a physical screen in front of the eyes,
you simply process another image on top of your default vision (eyes), you then should see it as if you crossed your eyes and were looking at two places at once (Almost like the two images are woven into one) You should see the HUD on top of your natural vision.

    Back to the computer idea.
We know that this virtual desktop inside our head is indeed plausible. Its been proven for a blind person, what about someone who can already see, could the brain have two view ports? It essentially already has two (two eyes) what about a third.

What about the motor aspect of the inbrian desktop? Again its been proven that we can send messages from the brain to a prosthetic using a brain computer interface, rather then using a prosthetic we control a pointer for the desktop and maybe even a keyboard. As for the computer part perhaps we can have tiny computers (perhaps for containing and creating simple documents) attached to near the BCI devices like so. This tiny computer should also be responsible for graphics and hardware (to render the desktop) (We do have a computer as small as a thubdrive)

Utilizing this tech we should be able to literally have a virtual desktop in our head.
I don't think I have to explain what uses a in brain desktop would be even just for documents.

I just hope it's a small desk. I do see the practicality on being able to set drinks on top of my head, interesting thought.

WE already have a "desktop" in our heads, it is called a brain! We can only add to what the brain can hold by augmenting it with PC's that can and do provide us with anything we want to know without it being hooked up directly into our brains.

I had a pretty entertaining thought yesterday as I revisited this idea. I wonder if we could make animals talk through BCI technology.

Why not just learn how to understand them, animals have "talked" since they were first encountered on this planet. It is humans that need to learn their "language".

    Well, there are two options:
    1. Stimulate brain from the outside somehow (radiation, magnetic fields). This will inevitably expose a subject's skin to the mean of stimulation. And cause inflammation or maybe even cancer.
    2. Attach a physical device to subject's brain directly. Consequences of brain surgeries of such kind are also very well known.
