What happens if a huge money-sucking online multiplayer computer game shuts down after a huge "one-time-only 5 times game credit sale"?

a sale that sucked like an average of 20 dollars of each player?
and suddenly, purposely closes down after earning a huge bucket of money?

on what terms are they sue-able?

sorry i cant provide information about the game... cause it does not exist. lol

Since such a game does not exist, then I presume your reason for asking is because you are contemplating creating such a game. Tread carefully.

Why would any sensible member provide you with the knowledge to steal money from people? Better yet, why would you even have the desire to theorize how it could be done if you didn't plan to be involved in it?

A "one-time-only 5 times game credit sale" will not pay for the amount of time/skill/money required to create a "huge money-sucking online multiplayer computer game".

And if the game is popular enough that a decent amount of money is made from a one-time offer, then it would probably be more profitable to continue running the game.

    For example:
World Of Warcraft (WOW) is a very popular game.
Blizzard (the creators of WOW) could make a massive amount of cash by doing what you suggest.
But they make more money by just continuing to run it normally.

But for example, if a virus his the server's account database and deleted it cleanly, what could the players/users do to the company?

sue it? or are they not eligible for a sue or what?

The server's database would be rolled back to the previous back-up and things would continue as usual.
Granted, player's would have lost up to a day's character progression and they would be annoyed.
But not as annoyed as having the game close down permanently.

Roll-backs have happened in all the big MMO's and players get over it quite quickly.

To answer your question: players sign T's & C's that state that the players do not own anything to do with the game.
The characters that are levelled and played by the players always remain the property of the game creators.
Players would not be able to sue.

Most countries have laws against fraud, which is what this sounds like. A customer's bank account or credit card would have a record of their financial transactions. You could be talking about criminal charges, not just a lawsuit.

But if the T&C's overlap the countries' laws what would happen?

Criminal laws (e.g. fraud) supersede civil laws (e.g. T&Cs).

For example, you couldn't sign a contract (civil law) giving someone permission to kill (criminal law) you.
(I realise that there are a few complicated exceptions, e.g. Dignitas (assisted dying organisation) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - but I hope you get my point.)
(I also realise that I am using British terminology, but I still hope you get my point. )
