Well I just installed the evaluation version of Windows Vista. I've had some driver problems with my Nvidia cards, but other than that, it seems to run pretty fast. I like the new "gadgets" feature, can't wait for some 3rd party gadgets that a really useful.
Just curious if anyone else has tried it, and what their opinions are and any problems they might have encountered.

I tried out one of the betas a while back. It has some really nice features, but the version I had was still pretty buggy.

I think I'll wait until I upgrade my system and for the retail version to be released before I jump on the bandwagon.
I don't feel like playing around with a new OS. I'd rather do it or don't, if you know what i'm saying.

The thing about Vista is that it's supposedly a completely new os from the ground up. It's ditched a lot of the problems that have plagued windows because the kernels in use today were designed back in the stone age.

If you want to learn more about Vista, Microsoft has this neat tv station thing where you can download a lot of documentaries from the kernel guys and whatnot.

This is a link to Going Deep which is all about Vista and it's inner workings. You can search the site and find a bunch of other stuff too.

Really good stuff in here. If you're into this sort of thing.

When I get myself my first ever own laptop, it shall have Vista on it. But that will be maybe next year or the year after. I need money first.
