How do you know we are not?
i base my beliefs that we are not because i hear voices of which i think are gods.
Your belief has nothing to do with computer science though and your hearing voices could just be the result of dementia etc. It has no basis in scientific fact. I cant prove we live in a matrix or not. Please think about how you sound when you post things on the internet that anybody can read.
What does "living in a matrix" mean? A matrix (math) is an array of numbers.
what he means is a reference to 'The Matrix' its a movie where people are trapped inside a computer program worth a watch if you havent seen it The Matrix (1999) - IMDb
How To Live In A Simulation
How To Live In A Simulation*
by Robin Hanson
If you might be living in a simulation then all else equal you should care less about others, live more for today, make your world look more likely to become rich, expect to and try more to participate in pivotal events, be more entertaining and praiseworthy, and keep the famous people around you happier and more interested in you.

The Simulation Argument
On this website you can peruse the debate that followed the paper presenting the simulation argument. The original paper is here, as are popular synopses, scholarly papers commenting on the first paper, and a couple of replies to these comments.
The simulation argument is continuing to attract a great deal of attention. I regret that I cannot usually respond to individual queries about the argument.

this is a reoccurring theme for you isn't it...because i hear voices of which i think are gods
...John Nash jr had hallucinations too and was nonetheless able to make great contributions, theres a movie "A Beautiful Mind" which is quite interesting, specially the bar scene illustrating the extremely important concept that other people must be taken into consideration (as opposed to the libertarian each man for himself dogma). You should seek treatment for the voices you hear, you have nothing to loose, since if the voices are really gods you will still get to hear them because they are gods, if you dont, then its a good bet they were hallucinations.
Get well.
If this is a literal movie reference, then I would presume that, with how many people live in the world, an anomaly- a glitch, a random back alley showing only raw code, etc.- would have become evident to multiple people by now. Also, the complexity of life, mathematics, quantum mechanics, and, on the holistic level, the observable universe would have to be repeated verbatim by a computer capable of processing these things. Unless human beings ever discover how to emulate such advanced programming, the event of 'living in a matrix' seems unlikely due to the Occam's Razor theory.
If you are hearing voices from what you believe are gods and if those gods exist, then surely they would not allow machines to put us in some matrix. Either that or you are hearing voices :P
