Well if i knew i was gonna be around for the next 300yrs, i would be !!!

I seriously believe robots will become massively relevant in the short to medium term, and then troublesome thereafter....

There are many films on this subject, but can you imagine a society where automatons are accepted as butlers/shopkeepers/doctors etc etc and there is a political catastrophy with China for example.... a simple code beamed across the globe turns many machines into killing machines....

Pure fantasy for now.... but i reckonwe're heading for trouble !!

For Japith. What about Computerised Manufacturing Equipment? Couldn't we just turn off the Electricity if our Robots get friskie? or will they seize the source of Power outlets? Robot Programming is imputed by Man. Man is a recognised Killer. I s the Mad Scientist lurking out there? Is there a secret location where thousands of Robotic forces of destruction are being assembled at this very moment? Or is this a concern for the Future. Perhaps under the pretence of Base Ball Players or Grid Iron Players? There is a plus of course, we could have full employment. Frankinstein Lurks. You know, Japith, there's going to be hell toplay in the Future, if you want it. westwind.

I feel you guys make fun... in a good way.. but a car is not a robot running AI... a car is the equivalent of a spoon.....

A robot is.. many things... it is Asimov.. which has mastered physics, and it is many applications that has mastered sight, and then the intelligence thing... many machines that can outwit humans...

add to that a jcb for power... we humans are nothing if the robot disagrees....

I will never be scared of anything but death, so if a robot has a knife to my neck.. then I might be a little frightened. Other then that I will <3 robots.

I don't agree with that thinking. What most likely will happen is that the AI & humans will be able to communicate in some form of telepathy and we will be forming symbiotic relationships with each other. After all the only way a machine will be able to experience emotion will be through humans and human will gain the massive thinking power of the AI. We will need each other and may be the only way humans can avoid extinction.

I like the essence... and agree, you say it as it should be...

But robots will become prevalent in our society... many centuries after i'm gone... but hugely important...
And imagine a corrupt country with massive technological capabilities... turning out hundreds of robots an hour.... all waterproof, swimming killing machines landing on your beach.... each one twice the size of your house... with weapons to match an apatche helicopter.... and the strength of a jcb...
    Human armies are no more...

Maybe i should write a book?
