Hey guys i am currently at university and i am in IT engineering field but Software engineering is also very tempting for me, i still don't know if i will switch or not. I like both, so who's more versatile ? Can an IT engineer switch easier to the Soft engineering than a soft engineer to it field ? Who's more rewarding financially ? What field is more rewarding if you want to make up you own buisness ?

The term "IT Engineering" is ambiguous, you've got to clarify it with specification

It's a field where you focus less on code developpement and much more on data management hence the offered specialisations: Networking, Web affairs and multimedia

Hm, IT jobs are going away the more people move to hosted/managed data centers. Most IT Jobs these days are becoming more networking focused on offices and focused application management. IT will pay better but harder to find a job in my experience. Software engineering can pay very well depending on your knowledge. If you're a web developer probably not more than 56K. If you know SQL (and i mean hardcore) or have more capabilities with non-memory managed software you can get more lucrative jobs in the six figures, but these usually also require a CS degree behind them.
