The only fault I see, and it could be a significant one if not a copy-paste error, is that the "<" is left off at the beginning of the "applet code" tag.

Beyond this, the code looks correct in syntax. It may simply be a context error with the rest of the code on your html page. This would be difficult to find without having the full page.

Frontpage is so wasteful and sloppy in generating code, but that's just an opinion from an extremely novice html/css coder. However, I suppose if it's what's being taught, you haven't much choice.

    I agree with your assessment.

I agree. Why would a school teach this?

In the first year of my Software Engineering degree we had to submit an assignment in HTML 4.01 Strict, and were completely banned from using WYSIWYG tools such as Frontpage. I do not see the merit in their academic use, and believe they should be confined to layman market. I would queston any higher education institution IT course, especially Computer Science, that uses Frontpage or any other WYSIWYG tool.
