I build/mess around with things from time to time. (dont we all?)
    robot time Twisted Evil

Im abit stuck, but if anyone can help i'll post pictures of the build and that Cool

    anyway...

How would i go about building and programming my own micro chip and reader.
it doesn't have to be the same size as a one they put it pets. but it has to work the same.

I want to be able to read diffrent chips and tell them apart.

I know you can buy the readers, but surely you can just make one?

does anyone know anything on this sort of thing?

I'd also like to be able to scan the chip from a short distance too Confused

I'd just like to add, i know im going to need a program or hardware to program the chips but if you know how...point in the right direction pleaseee

i've always been a fan of RFID chips. they can be less than a millimeter thick and i've seen them as little as 1cm by .5cm in area(they get much smaller). they can be easily read with anything that is pretty sensitive to radio waves.

perhaps the following article can help you. the basic information is correct, although there is significant unsighted claims towards the end, the phrasing suggests plagarism.

    physics: accurate, objective, boring
chemistry: accurate if physics is accurate, slightly subjective, you can blow stuff up
biology: accurate if chemistry is accurate, somewhat subjective, fascinating
religion: accurate if people are always right, highly subjective, bewildering

I'm a little confused on what your trying to do honestly. This sounds more like electrical engineering than computer science, but its semi related if you explain what you mean by micro chip reader people could be of better help.
