Hello everyone! I am new here and hope to meet some wise computer science buddies!
Well, I am enrolled in college and am aiming for a Math and Computer Science Degree(MCS). I have taken an introductory course in computer science last semester. Python was the language that was used in the course.
This coming semester, I will be learning the basics of C++(actually, we are going to go deeper into C++ than just the basics). I wanted to learn and practice a bit before the semester starts. I have heard about GCC and have looked on their website, but it is very confusing to me. I have gone to the mirrors that offer the download of the updated version, but it sends me to an ftp style site with folders and files. I am on a Windows machine so I am used to downloading an .exe file and executing it. Can anyone give me a tutorial on how to install GCC on a Windows 7 64 bit machine...?
Also, are there other compilers that might be better on a Windows machine than the GCC compiler? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks!
