my cousin's computer can't start up. Every time I push the start button, the computer tell me it is unable to start and one of the recent downloaded program cased it.
the computer ask me reinstall the window vista 32, but my cousin already lose the window vista 32 cd and his computer is more than two years old, the computer company would not be help, in addition the language is chinese.
do any of you have any suggestion for me or my cousin?

Usually there is a Function key option while booting up (right after pushing the power on button) that allows you to enter "Safe Mode". Sometimes it's F8, but you need to cycle things a bunch of times and watch the screen very carefully to catch the message -- you may need to figure out how to get into the Bios at boot time, often F1 or F10, and turn on boot messages as well.

Once in Safe Mode you can perhaps do a restore to a previous state. It might even ask you if that's what you want to do, otherwise you'll need to rummage around in the My Computer Properties panels to find System Restore. If that doesn't work then you may be able to uninstall whatever the latest programs were.

Sorry I can't give you a lot of specifics...I have to figure this out every time on each machine I have because each is a bit different. It's probably best that you find someone near you who has some experience with this and throw yourselves on his or her mercy.

When I press F1, the PhoenixBios Setup utility display on the screen. However, I am unable to change any time on it.
