    Heya,
I've been having a problem with my camera that I just bought, it's a NIKKAI Mini Digital - I bought it to be able to take around to places where I wouldn't want to risk taking my good digital, but for some reason it's not working! I installed it, but when I go to get the pictures off it, it just says "Camera Connection Error" I uninstalled, and reinstalled it many times, changed it's USB port many times and even downloaded the driver setup again from the internet, but it still doesn't work! Any ideas of what I could do?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Andrea

(By the way, I'm using XP home SP2 and my suspisions are that the software is not compatible with XP SP2, but I'm not 100% sure. If I'm right, would there be any way to make it compatible?)

[ http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=132080 is where I downloaded the driver from, but was the exact same as the one on the CD and didn't change anything ]

[ http://www.luminous-landscape.com/es...unkeycam.shtml that is an article on the camera I purchased, it's hard to find any info on it at all.]

Try uninstalling the drivers again and then plug your camera in once more. Windows might automatically install the most suited driver for you.

Hmmm, the fact that it gave the "Camera Connection Error" message would tell me that the drivers are either:

    1) Working, butthere is a physical fault with the camera and/or connection cable

    2) You have the wrong drivers :?

*Edit* - Actually, I have been looking online about this problem for you and found that another person has had the same problem. He/she stated that it was Windows Update that caused the problem. They remedied the problem by downloading new drivers. So, I would suggest e-mailing the manufacturer and request drivers for the camera on Windows XPSP2.

Okay, thanks a lot, that's a great idea and I'll do it now

Edit: Okay I just found another problem, I can't seem to find the manufacturers e-mail! Or even Nikkai's website! :?

I've spent the last few minutes searching for their home-page but found nothing but the parent company's Japanese web-site. I translated the Japanese text too but it's all about Switches (Devices for networks).

There are definately drivers available for the camera online because I saw the links (Whether the links work or not is another question). Also, did you keep all documentation that came with the camera?

Yeah, I tried downloading a driver I found from a link I found on google but it was the exact same software I had on the CD. What do you mean by documentation? I threw out the box that it came in but it had nothing on there that it didn't have in the instruction manual, which I still have.

By documentation I mean manuals, guarantees, etc. They would usually have contact details if the product doesn't work.

Okay sorry about that, I have the manual but I didn't get a guarantee with it. I checked the whole manual several times and there's no contact details at all, which is pretty stupid.. :?

    Hi guys,
I've got the same issue and found this post while trying to google my problem. Have any conclusions been reached? Mine also says 'connection error'. Thanks

Nikkai Mini Digital Camera's chip code is 0X2770:0x905c.

Below cameras are using same chip:

    Vivitar ViviCam35
    Radio Shack Digigr8
    NHJ Soundstar TDC35

The Vivitar ViviCam35's driver can find in:

    http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=589073

    Done!
