Hello, my travel guides through the world of computers. I have just bought a 320 GB external hard drive. It is all set up but just wondering what can i do with this. I have moved all of my photos and my docs onto it but a major hog of my memory is music and also video games. I was wondering since I use itunes and all of the downloaded songs have to be in their location, can I move my downloaded music to an external and still have itunes find it? And if I remove the hard drive and then re-connect it will i have to put all my music back on or will itunes find it right away? Also games. I play Sim 3 and Empire Total War, both are huge. Can I move the information, if so how, to the external and still play them?

Once again thank you for your help

    John

Im not too familiar with external drives, but yes i believe you can run games from it. However, you must reinstall itunes and any games onto the drive. When you typically download a game or program such as those, you install it to the C drive, or the internal harddrive, which will then go under Program Files, etc....

You may have to reinstall the programs onto the external drive (I dont know the letter) but im sure you can easily find it from My Computer.

I dont have an external drive to test this, but from what ive quickly researched it should be that easy. After all, isnt the external drive just an extension of your internal harddrive? id be suprised if it was any more difficult. Reply back and let me know if it works.
