I know that Windows 7 recently came out, but before buying it I want some reviews from people who have already experienced the new OS. So...

What are some new features that you find helpful?
What are some bad features or problems?
And of course, what's your opinion on Windows 7?

If you have to get it do it, but honestly I have had better experience with XP and a different shell to make it look new.

Honestly if you can get away from windows just get Linux.

well ... windows 7 is a very good release ...definitely better than vista ... and the main thing the windows 7 is much lighter than windows vista ...... as well as functions are concerned they are same like security options are more in this version as well the crystal graphics used in that ... unlike the vista the people have a very good impact towards the windows 7 ...........

Windows 7 is possibly the most stable release besides XP. The main advantage over XP (and any successive Windows versions) is that the UI is no longer an integral part of the Windows kernel. That is, the UI is now a set of loadable kernel modules.

They've also made an attempt at properly implementing root user privileges -- but only time will tell how well of an attempt this was.

Bad features? As with any Windows distribution, the list can be quite long. The most pressing issues however are:
    1) It's still relying on NTFS. And supports no other filesystems (except for FAT).
    2) Still bloated with legacy APIs to make the OS fully backwards compatible
    3) Windows Registry (although def. an improvement over earlier Windows versions)

I love windows 7. The only thing some people might not like is that the task bar isn't as thin as vista. It has a faster starting time and a minor speed boost when opening programs. You should get your hands on the beta its a great OS.

I second that. Just to let you know the pentagon uses a modified version of XP, but honestly if you can use Linux instead I would say that is your best bet.

Windows 7 is the latest and probably the best OS by Microsoft Co. I have many new features and it also supports the softwares desinged Windows Xp and other older version of Windows by its Compatibility Mode. It is better and lighter than Windows Vista as it is the upgraded and extended version of Windows Vista. I also use Windows 7 and I think it is better.
