hey i just read an interesting article in a magazine talking about the concept of quantum computing. using a few ATOMS to calculate 3x5=15 ! that is incredible i cannot imagine the processing power of a computer that can utilize trillions of atoms.

and the concept of a computer saying "maybe" instead of "yes" or "no" in solving problems, giving the computer an indefinite intelligence. this is all very exciting, but id like to hear some more input on this revolution from you guys.

but please...for the love of god !!! - do NOT let microsoft anywhere near a quantum computer. Windows rarely does what its told at the moment with only a yes or no decision; let alone throwing other decisions into the mix!!

Is windows going to load? (Maybe )

Where do you want to crash today?

    :?
The hand of time rested on the half-hour mark, and all along that old front line of the English there came a whistling and a crying. The men of the first wave climbed up the parapets, in tumult, darkness, and the presence of death, and having done with all pleasant things, advanced across No Man's Land to begin the Battle of the Somme. - Poet John Masefield.

Ok Quantom computers will be able to do more the the norm of tri-puting the YES-NO-Mabey, they will be able to look in to the problem and compute a sulition based on elarned experiences. I belive we have a 8QUbit system that is working which is a little bigger then the two atoms.
some links to get you more info will follow

    http://www.dwavesys.com/

    http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/hardwar...9283684,00.htm

    http://www.physorg.com/news106395871.html

The possibilities are limitless for what a Quantom Computer can be able to do.
I am liking the possibility of NI ( nural Intelligence ) robotic's bringing the Termanotor series fear to life. think of building a HOLO deck like star trek. with the break through of the Wii our next step will be to shrink the sensor system and incorperate it in to a body suit O,O
I will keep on thsi thread I am very interested in this if any on can uncover any articiles that are newer pease link them

but rember a QUbit is = to a bit so the 16Qubit system is 16x8= QUBIT

quantom gates are really interesting..........yes this area will only be for true computer scientists.......now programmers will be able to make less errors

Naa we still have Human error......

But the leaps this will provide for Nural Intelligence computing is limitless, the only draw back is where to limit the structure of excutables ??

I think quantum computers are a load of garbage and are impractical. The future belongs to optical computers, which are trillions of times faster and more energy efficient than electronic computers.
