So, I’m renting out my old house to my sister-in-law. She is switching over her DSL to her new place (yes DSL is available). My question is: Will she have any problems because I wired all the phone jacks with just the red and the green wires? Do the yellow and black wires have anything to do with DSL? I always figured they were for 2 line phones, but now I am wondering. I’m not anxious to crawl under the house again anytime soon.

    Thanks,

You just need a single pair. The colors don't matter, so long as they are a pair. You of course may need to put filters on the phones in the house to keep the DSL signal from reaching the phones, this is an easy thing to do. I actually have my DSL running off it's own pair and my phones off another. I placed the filter inside the phone box outside. It just made it easier for me to handle multiple phones plus the DSL while using only one filter.

    Edit:

Ohh welcome back, not seen you in a while.

Thanks again IS! I noticed that she has a plug in “splitter” type filter for each phone jack.

It is nice to be missed! I’ve not had much time to post lately. I should be around more now.
