I want to get into micro controller programming, so how do I start? What programs and hardware do I need?

What can this chip do? http://www.microchip.com/stellent/id...cName=en026448

    I found this program: http://www.winpic800.com//index.php?...d=18&Itemid=64

Though I think I still need an "assembler" (I have no idea where to get one) and an oscillator, according to a website. The chip in the link reports to have a built in oscillator, so does that mean that I have no need for an external one?

The first thing I want to accomplish with this would be too make a sensor that can follow movement in the form of controlling multiple motors to move a camera. How difficult is this?

    Thanks.

Of all the wonders in the universe, none is likely more fascinating and complicated than human nature.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence"
