    Hi,

I'm interested in making a home laboratory, and i guess i need some help from you people, which i'm sure that are far better then me in the subject.

Can anyone tell me a simple method of how to produce Sodium Hydroxide from chemicals i can find in a household or chemicals that are easy to obtain?

    thanks in advance,
    darmic

There is no simple way to make sodium hydroxide from household chemicals. Modern commercial processes involve special equipment. Even the old-fashioned LeBlanc and Solvay processes are beyond the means of the amateur "kitchen chemist."

Like SteveF said, you're not going to be able to make sodium hydroxide from household products. You could just buy it though. The common name is lye and people use it to make soap.
