Self explanatory really, deionised water is water that has been passed through an ion exchange column in order to remove ions that aren't H3O+ and OH-, so common ones like Na+, Ca+, Cl-, etc.

Distilled water on the other hand has been... well, distilled!

Just two different ways of purifying water really.

deionising water wouldn't remove such things like dirt, and gritty particles and stuff to the best of my knowledge
