What is the compound which dental fillings are made up of? Does anybody know? What exactly is calcium hydroxide???
calcium -Chemical element, one of the alkaline earth metals.
hydroxide - Any compound with one or more functional groups made up of one atom.
i think they use amalgam(sp?), although they seem to be using a kind of plastic now at my dentist.
and im not sure what you want to knwo about Ca(OH)2
This is what I found.
- amalgam, or alloy mixed with mercury
- composite, or white filling with same color as that of teeth
- indirect filling, or filling made in a lab
Here's a link to where I found it.
