hey guys. recently i came across an article on the net that mentioned adding ammonium hydroxide to the copper(II) sulphate in a daniell cell (comprising of copper & zinc electrodes and copper&zinc sulphate electrolytes) will cause a precipitation of copper hydroxide which will in turn increase the voltage across the cell. Why is it so? other than that particular site, i can't seem to find any other sites explaining this phenomenon so how true is that site? thanks for your help! (:
