Totally random question, does anyone know if iron(II) acetylacetonate is soluble in water (or aqueous acid), or anything else for that matter - but the solvent needs to dissolve lithium acetate and phosphoric acid also, so really non-polar solvents like hexane would be rubbish. I'm thinking perhaps ethanol, methanol and acetonitrile might, but I'm guessing... if anyone knows they can have a hypothetical gold star

all i could get is that it's soluble in 'organic solvents,' which would exclude water of course. and if it needs to be polar, i would think that any of those three you named would work...but i don't know a ton about this sort of thing. can i have half a hypothetical gold star maybe, for trying?

    Yeah, why not :P

I'm gonna put in the order for it tomorrow anyway, hopefully I'll know by the end of the week.

Turns out to be quite crap in the end :P It's oh-so-slightly soluble, but I can't get an appreciable concentration out of either the iron(II) or the iron(III) versions in methanol, ethanol, acetone or cyclopentanone (not even 0.1 M). Never mind...
