    A form of tantalum carbide TaC has been developed thats harder than diamonds?

    and

    same with this and does anyone know where this was done?

    Praseodymium alloyed with nickel PrNi5 when magnetised gets colder. from what i understand they used it to get within 1000th of a degree of absolute zero


    Im trying to find out more about these two areas

    I don't know about TaC specifically, but it wouldn't surprise me. There are many known carbides that are only slightly softer than diamond. People like to make things like drill bits and saw blades out of them because they're almost as good as diamond but a whole lot cheaper. Silicon carbide is especially popular.
