I just wanted to make this post to try to find any unsolved problems that may be solved by chemistry. I have always loved my school science fair, so this year I would like to solve a problem rather than demonstrating a solved one. I don't really want a huge problem meant to be solved by renowned scientists or nobel prize winners, just something not too easy not too hard that would be reasonably solved by a high school senior or maybe a college freshman. An example I found a while back has already been solved, that was a demonstration on how marination using lemon juice reduces risk of salmonella bacteria in food. The problem sounded simple, yet the solver had to go through many complicated steps to find the final answer. I would prefer a problem like this. Thank you for any responses!
