    Hello all,

Is there any way I can form a compressed solid piece of activated carbon (pebble, disk, stick, bar, etc)
BUT without the adverse powder or smudging forming from touch or rubbing carbon against something?
ALSO while maintaining the properties of adsorption.

I was thinking this would be possible by combining a plastic base with the activated carbon to hold it in place.

Would that work? How would I go about doing that?
Are there better ways for me to achieve this?

    Thank you,
    Adrian

Or perhaps someone can recommend a semi permeable membrane that will not allow the carbon to pass through, but still allow adsorption?

There are plenty of products where it has been done, clothing for example, but I'm not sure about how you'd go about a home-grown version.

Depends what you want it for. Brewing/distilling filters versus getting the nasties out of dodgy water supplies versus air filters need different standards.

I'm most interested in preserving its air pollutant filtration properties
