well im a 15 year old highschool student and today in biology, seeing as we need a basic understanding of it in order to understand biology, we were talking about basic chemisty such as atoms. i eventually thought about how the world was created for some reason. then, i thought, and please correct me if im wrong, that if there was a mass of energy made of matter, how come there couldnt be a mass of anti matter that bumped into the other mass causing an explosion, creating two parralell universes, and putting us here today. i just want to know if this is plausable

    explain further

I am zelos. Destroyer of planets, exterminator of life, conquerer of worlds. I have come to rule this uiniverse. And there is nothing u pathetic biengs can do to stop me

On the eighth day Zelos said: 'Let there be darkness,' and the light was never again seen.

    Hi Nathan

Are you talking about the big bang explosion? If a large mass of matter 'bumped into' a large nass of antimatter, there would indeed be quite an explosion. The problem is that matter and anitmatter annhiliate one another so yes, you would be creating energy but you would be destroying matter (and antimatter!).

This is not a very good way to create a universe. Since all the matter already exists you are not actually creating anything. And where would this matter/antimatter come from? If it already exists then the universe exists already.

Both matter and anti-matter was CREATED by the big bang, all the antimatter was anhilated by contact with matter. But fortunatly there was an imbalance and there was plenty of matter left over, this is what makes up our univerese today!

It's good to see a 15 year old coming up with ideas for the birth of the universe, it indicates a bright mind!

i see but its just that for the big bang teory to be true in general, which we have proof of from quasars, then how the mass of energy became is unsolved still. and then there could also be anti matter, but i guess the parallell universe thing would still be unproven but i guess i was just trying to explain HOW that mass of energy exploded, which i believe has not been scientificly proven with plausable evidence. ill ive heard was that it just one "day", for lack of a better term, exploded. and for zelos, i was trying to say that seeing as there was a mass of energy/ matter, why couldnt there be a mass of antimatter that comes into contact with the matter causing the big bang. thanks for the feedback

and also without opposites, NOTHING can exist, strengthening my theory further

The term mass of energy is so not true to the big bang theory. according to Einstein all mass is energy. Particles like electrons mass are measured in eV/c^2 which is a unit of energy. But mass in the classical sense did not exist for the first litle bit of existense of space time. Once matter came into existense there was an unbalance of matter/antimatter and the matter dominated and anhilated most antimatter as the others said.... so no your theory is well a little off (no parallel universe here captain). However there is supposed to be 9 or 10 dimensions in sub matter that could mathematically, at least theoreticly, house parallel universes (superstring theory).

PS that mass of energy that created the big bang as you put it was smaller than the smallest speck of anything we have ever known and is called pure energy.

i realise that it was small but it was so full of energy that the explosion would have been phenominal nonetheless. but anyways even if this theory WAS true, there would be no real way to prove it but hey i guess it is highly unlikely
