hi i was wondering if any one could help me with empirical formula , i am currently teaching myself a level chemistry
and was wondering if any one knows the correct answer to the empirical formula of EDTA = C10 H16 N2 O8
I got C6 H9 N O5
but this doesn't seem correct
please help

It isn't correct. The empirical formula must contain the same ratios of elements as the molecular formula. Since there are 2 nitrogens and all the other elements are divisible by 2 you should get C5 H8 N O4.
