Ok, so I'm doing AS Level Chemistry at the moment and I've been trying to figure out what the difference is between a free radical and a radical.

I know that the definition of a radical is a chemical species with one or more unpaired/lone electrons, but what is the difference for a free radical- if there is a difference?

Only things I can think of are that a free radical may be more stable/have a longer 'life'.
