I need to calculate the reaction between an Acid and Metal Carbonate for chemistry home work.
It has to be a balanced equation of H3PO4 + MgCO3
I know that Acid + Metal Carbonate --> Salt + H2O + CO2 but i was wondering how to work out what the salt is so I could use it in other equations?
    Thanks

Well, think about it. If CO2 is a byproduct, do you think that there will be a carbonate ion left to form a salt? What are your other options?
