    my friend has a turkey fryer that contains lead, even says: "The materials used in this product may contain lead" in the manual. Could this actually cause any harm? esp. if you leave the oil in there and fry another turkey a week later? Thanks.

    I doubt that the lead, if any, is in the cooking pot. If it were there, it could melt if your cooker got hot enough.

    i was thinking the same, the fryer is @ 350 and lead is about 325C, what if its some kind of lead alloy with a higher melting pt?
