If the amino acid arginine is replaced by glycine in a molecule of pro-insulin, insulin will not be produced, so why will the enzyme no longer break down pro-insulin?. Thanks

Why does glucose oxidase and peroxidase form a better test as it allows for a more accurate assay?

How do enzymes enable reactions, that take place in living cells, at temperatures far lower than those required for the same reactions in a laboratory?

What are the chances that someone knowledgeable enough to have the answers to this question and the other six you have posted will be dumb enough not to recognise they are homework?

You need to show you have made some effort to understand the question for yourself. If we simply give you the answer how does that help your understanding? It doesn't - it solves your problem of having something to hand in in class, ,but tomorrow you still don't even understand the topic.

A simple search turned up this linl:
    http://www.chemistry.wustl.edu/~cour...s/carbonic.htm

It seems to address your needs. If you still don't understand it after reading through then come back and specify, clearly, what you don't understand.

Here are a few homework questions scattered about the forums. They're mostly chemistry-related, so I consolidated them here.

My suggestion: be nice to the lad but don't give the whole answer. Show him how to fish, as it were.
