I was wondering how chemists involved in working with chemical structures could understand the structures of molecules before the Lewis Structure, which wasn't even introduced until 1916. There were a lot of atoms that were found before 1916, and it seems it would be impossible to show the relationships and bonding between atoms if you didn't have the Lewis structure.
