What liquid has a refractive Index of roughly 1.3625 and a density of roughly 0.75 g/cm3?

It is soluble in water and insoluble with cyclohexane.

    seperate question

Also what liquid to turn white when mixed with ethanol?

    Yes its for a lab.

to narrow it down I believe its one of the following liquids

    Acetone
    Ethanol
    Methanol
    Isopropyl Alcohol

the liquid which make the Ethanol turn white could also be one of those four.

if you can narrow down a boiling or freezing point, you can peg it easier. Assuming of course that its an homogenous solution.

Thats the problem I don't have a boiling point! The liquid is also colorless

Cant you just distill it and see what temperature it comes over at?

you doing the lab work or is this just info given to you?
BP is a primary property for ID.
Nd @20C for ethanol is 1.3611 close to what you have
Smell it all the stuff on your list have a distinctive odor.
All else fails get an IR spectrum

Hmm I thought of Ethanol, however Methanol also has a Refractive Index that is close at 1.34 and has a similar density and unlike ethanol is insoluble with cyclohexane....

What happens when you mix Ethanol and Methanol? What are the physical characteristics.

Are you actually doing lab work or is this a paper exercise?
    CRC listed indexes are:
    MEOH-----1.3288
    EtoH------1.3611
    ISOP------1.3776
    Acetone---1.3588

You get a clear solution of the mix NO WHITE STUFF
