Does anyone know much about the ionized water systems? A good friend of mine, who is a dentist, recently purchased the Kangen ionized water system, and claims that drinking the Kangen magic water has changed his life, and given him miraculous health!

Is there any truth to the claims that drinking ionized water, especially the Kangen, which claims to be the best, will cure many kinds of illnesses and physical problems, and give you new vitality and energy?

Any knowledgable scientists out there? What do you have to say?

    Inform him that water self-ionises.

Here is a website debunking the claim for water ionisers.

    http://www.chem1.com/CQ/ionbunk.html

And the man who will sell you the device should you still wish to purchase it:

I have no intentions of wasting my money on ionizing devices. I do have a reasonably good inexpensive water filter. I might buy a better one when its usefulness has expired ....

Thanks for sharing the website. Someone on another science forum recommended the same webpage. I'm still reading through that page, up to Electrolysis so far ....

Are there any other reputable websites with sound scientific analysis exposing the ionized water systems scam ... ???

this article is really annoying - over a year ago i brought an alkalark -

    http://www.water-for-health.co.uk/in...FaAA4wodzyM8JQ

in light of the article I don't know what to make of it as even though one of the things it claims to do is ionize it also add minerals, changes the size of the water clusters as well as other things like add 'active carbon' & 'active hydrogen' - anyone got one or know anything further on this?

    thanks!!!

ALKALARK: the new easy solution to change your normal drinking water into alkaline, antioxidant, health giving water.
    = water softener.

The ALKALARK is the most convenient and cost effective way to provide your body with the benefits of alkaline ionised water.
    also = water softener.

The ALKALARK is a carefully designed drinking flask with special natural minerals in its base which beneficially changes the water you put into it.
= bullshit. You get as much in the way of minerals from tapwater as you're ever likely to need from water.

The ALKALARK vessel holds 500ml of water making it an ideal size to carry with you wherever you are whether at home, at work, on holiday or while exercising. All you do is add your normal drinking water and leave for a short while for the water to be activated. The minerals in ALKALARK will last for between 14 and 18 months before needing replacement.
So the amount that actually dissolves is negligible.

Many leading scientists have stated that excess acidity in the tissues is the prime cause of diseases and by changing the pH of the body to its optimum pH balance you can greatly improve health, reduce fatigue, reduce inflammation and pain, increase energy and concentration, and generally slow down the ageing process.
    = water softener.

Alkaline antioxidant water has been used extensively in Japan, Korea and other Oriental countries for many years and is used in the treatment of many degenerative diseases including cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, kidney problems, gastro intestinal problems and skin complaints.
Hmmm. So people drink water when they're ill. Whatever next?

I don't trust a word of it mate.

Send me $1400 and I'll fix you up with a magnet system to polarize the minerals so they are more benficial . One born every minute , Eh?

From what I've read on the subject, the claims have a possibility of being true. You see, there are three different orbital energies that water can be made in to. Check out "Molecular Orbit Theory"

I'll do it for $800. Don't listen to this con-man

Let me make something clear. I agree those marketed ionizers are snake oil. If a system that changes water is to work, it's by changing the ionization energy of water, not by ionizing it.

Water molecules can have three different energies. Just that simple.

Ionised Water = epic bullshitted failz.

that said, D2O has been documented to have a beneficial effect, it increases the lifespan of flies and other insects.....unfortunately it kills bigger things stone dead

You know, the irony is that it probably does really change peoples' lives via the placebo affect, and because it motivates them to start drinking more water instead of other less healthy beverages (since they're paying for it), something that most of us do not do enough of.

I've got to be honest this does sounds like a scam. I looked it up in our search engine here and found one other thread on the topic: Alkaline water and electron ionized water

In that thread OP (besides his whole post sounding like a sneaky way to sell his product) makes mention of how the water filter changes the ORP or oxidation reduction potential. I looked this up on youtube to find Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) Testing - YouTube

Unless this demonstration has been malevolently tailored (which is very possible all considering) it raises an interesting point. Why is the ORP lower? Theoretically this should not be the case with pure water. Is there perhaps another compound such as sodium bicarbonate inside the filter which is producing these results?
