    to make a 2M solution of acetic acid do you dissolve 144ml of acetic acid in 1000ml of water?
    to make a 4M solution of acetic acid, do you dissolve 288ml of acetic acid in 1000ml water?

    The combined volume of the solvent and solute is used to measure the concentration.

    so 2M of solute and enough solvent to make the total volume up to 1dm≥.

    Now stop posting what are clearly homework questions.
